Check out our new patient Cash, Cash has just moved here from Western Australia and booked an appointment to learn more about the importance of Kennel Cough Vaccines.

Heres what DR Bob Shared:

What is Kennel Cough?
Kennel cough is a contagious respiratory infection in dogs, similar to a cold in humans. It’s often caused by the Bordetella bacterium and spreads easily in places where dogs gather.

Symptoms
The main symptom is a dry, hacking cough. Your dog may also have sneezing, a runny nose, or mild lethargy.

Prevention
Vaccination is the best prevention. While it doesn’t offer complete protection, it reduces the risk and severity of kennel cough.

Treatment
Most cases are mild and can be managed with rest and fluids. If symptoms worsen or your dog seems very unwell, seek veterinary care.

When to Contact Us
If your dog’s cough is persistent, or they show signs of distress, contact our clinic. Early treatment can prevent complications.
